about aurie!

Hey, world! I'm Aurie.

I'm a theatre-maker, writer, storyteller, traveler, and self-proclaimed smarty-pants living in New York City.
My background includes theatre, theatre...and more theatre. I am and will always be a quintessential "theatre kid", so I can always be found brainstorming my next theatrical project, weeping at classic movie musicals, or working as a musical theatre director/choreographer! Currently, I am the Director/Choreographer of BergenPAC Performing Art School's spring production of Aladdin Jr. See you on stage in 2025!
Most recently, I choreographed BergenPAC Performing Arts School's 2024 summer production of The Wizard of Oz. As a performer, my credits include American Idiot (1st international), HAIR (Canada/US), The Lightning Thief (US), and Girls Night (Las Vegas, Smith Center). I love to use my background and passion for the performing arts to help shape the future of musical theatre for young and emerging talent. I hope that, through my passion and drive, I can inspire young people to be all that they want to be.
Along with being a musical theatre lover, I have a strong background in writing! I love to write TV/Film, travel adventures, a top-secret musical adaptation of one of my favorite books (stay tuned!), and general NYC nonsense. When I'm not sobbing to Broadway show tunes, I moonlight as a freelance writer for Go World Travel, Happy to Wander, and Christmas Jumper Shop (UK).

Fun Fact: My TV pilot SPINSTERS has been officially selected for Catalyst Institute's 2024 Duluth Film Festival
